Frequently Asked Questions

How do I go about finding a property with Ikon?

Should you be in a position where you are looking for accommodation, please contact the office in the first instance, who can take your details and assist in finding the most suitable property for your need. We will then contact you to arrange a viewing of a suitable property. Should you choose to accept this property we will ask you to complete an application form and return this to us immediately. We will then undertake referencing on yourself (character, employment, previous and/or current landlord references), in some cases we will undergo a credit check as well. Once we are satisfied with all information received we will then arrange a move in date with yourself.

What do I need to bring with me on move in day?

Please ensure you bring one form of photographic identification, your first 4 weeks/months rent, and a bond (should this be required) in cash to the office at the relevant time given to you by our staff.

How do I pay my rent?

Ideally all rent will be collected via standing order set up with your bank direct. We can also accept cash payments direct into our bank ensuring you use the first line of your address or your surname as a reference (contact the relevant branch for this information). We can also accept cash in either office (AM only).

What is included in my rent?

Rent is collected monthly or 4 weekly and includes the rental of the property for personal habitation only. It is the tenants responsibility to pay: council tax, gas, electric, water rates, TV license, TV/internet/telephone unless otherwise stated in the tenancy agreement.

Is my property insured?

It is a tenants responsibility to insure their own personal belongings in any rented property.

What is the vacating process?

If you wish to vacate the property, you must give at least 4 weeks/1 calender months notice (depending on your tenancy term) in writing to the relevant office/landlord. However you are bound to the initial term of the tenancy and may only vacate in this period should both a landlord/agent and yourself agree to this again in writing.
